The Hunting skirt eradication

One can’t deny the fact that it is really uncomfortable to sit on an animal back and do the hunting wearing the robes therefore the evolution of the trousers. In ancient times battle, the one wearing the trousers had the upper hand. Henceforth the adaptability of the civilization for the trousers started. Thereafter the fundamentally ranked lower-body clothing for men since ancient times had been trousers originated from Central Asia. Mainly it was clothing from waist to ankle, both legs covering separately.

The Scythians were a group of ancient tribes of nomadic warriors who originally lived in what is now southern Siberia.

The First Trouser

Eurasian nomads Scythians, Samaritans of the 6th century B.C were few who have shown the idea of trousers being worn from generations. Found at the Yanghai cemetery in Turpan, Xinjiang dated between 10th to 13th centuries B.C was the first evidence of this garment. It was made up of wool, straight legs and wide crotches were the features of the ancient trousers mainly for hose riding.

Sack to savage

The sixteenth-century B.C. Greeks geographers first noted the trousers’ appearance by Persians, Spartans, Eastern and Central horse riders. They ridiculed that piece of garment by calling it “sack” a slang term for ridiculous looking. And the strive of distinguishing themselves from the barbarians they acknowledged it by calling “garb of barbarians”.Consequently, Romans adopted the garment because of its comforting warmth and practicality, symbolizing the savagery of warriors, soldiers, and horse riders. Bit still draping was the symbolization of civilization and pants were for barbarians. Hence mainly used in the military the trousers were loose-fitting and closed at the ankles called Braccae and the other one was snuggly fit mid-calf length called Feminalia made of wool leather and cotton.

Under Armor Trousers

1350 was the time for the extreme demand of the leg coverings for the war. Modification of armor from chains to plate; body contour fitting. Leggings were said to be the second skin and were attached to the wedge-shaped inserts or fly flaps.  

Then the knights in the duration of the 14th century developed tight trousers with attached foot coverings just like a horse. And medieval Europe stated wearing snug-fitting pants or as called in present time leggings which were tucked inside the man boots. In the duration of 1500  men wore voluminous knee-breeches ballooning over the thighs, ankle nipped, bold colors, ornate cloth regarded as the first veritable men’s trouser fashion, with men adopting short tunics and hose.

Colorful trousers

Evolution of trousers in the 16th century was simple breeches above knees and stockings below, accompanied by the ribbons and buttons also called pantaloons by the upper class and the lowers class was continuing the 15th-century trend. Trousers were accompanied by the extremely broad, slashed wide breeches, colorful fabrics, codpieces padded worn by a mercenary soldier.

During the 1550 time Spain had “military bass drum pants” which was the over headed wide breeches creating a visual of two balloon-like legs. It was recognized national wear and overheads were removed after 1600 . Henceforth the ribboned pantaloons with side buttons were evolved to skirt-like, heavily decorated Rheingrave or also called a petticoat.

Nineteenth Century

This was the time the modernization took off and people wanted a cut from ancient traditional dress code. And during the French revolution simple knee breaches, fastened below the knee, the high heels, stockings were worn and Romans wore the long trousers symbolizing class and formal workplace clothing. Different styles evolved like the pleated trousers, tight ones and sharply flared, buttoned middle silted, colorful, and dark-colored. So this was the time before the 19th century when pantaloons were the modernization clothing.  The young boys wore the bottom open knee-length trousers; some wore the experimenting fashion like knickerbockers, jeans, Bermudans shorts. Chinos, and other styles for sports and the supplanted breeches were the street wearable fashion.

The Jeans Evolution

Jeans in the 17th century was a crucial textile for working class people in Italy. Evidently given in the painting named ”The master Of the Blue Jeans”. Jeans came into the scene in the duration of Goldrush, when the coal miner’s needed the durable strong pair of trousers. Levi Strauss and Jacob  Davis supplied them denim pants the durable and rivet reinforced pants. As world war 2 became the revolutionary step for the popularization of denim. It became the meaning for rebellion as the soldier wore it while they were not fighting .In the medieval and end of 19th century the Wrangler lee was built for jeans manufacturing.

Paul Poiret the 20th century fashion designer featured the long tunic worn over harem pants, which came into existence for business. Trousers of various styles were classified into different jobs. For example, breeches were the clothing for judges of a courtroom or the three quarter length knickers were the sports worn fashion.  The hip-hop culture and skaters brought the modern baggy trouser in fashion called shaggy. And the formal pants with creases we know today have been set up as a trend by the EdwardVII the eldest son of Queen Victoria. Later of the 20th century, there was an explosion in the evolution of trousers styles for men and women

Jeans

Great choice of comfort ruggedness and strong durable and stylish and in present time jeans are also given a place for comfort.

Shorts

Earlier wear for children and boys but during the 20th century it gained popularity. Warmer climate cloths such as Bermuda shorts; above the knees paired with high socks, dress shirts, ties, and jackets.

Capri pants

A mid-calf length pants usually popularized by the TV shows.  

Leggings

A type of trousers which was already recognized from the beginning of the evolution of the trousers. Due to its stretchiness comfort, it had always been in the train of the trend from the beginning.

Tunics/ Gauchos

A loose and skirt like pants along with knee hems and paired boots.
